Paddy & Scott's Brews Community Spirit with Innovative Events at Waterfront Café in Ipswich

Suffolk-based coffee company, Paddy & Scott's, is serving up more than just food and drink at their Waterfront Café in Ipswich. Known for breaking the mould and injecting their unique flair into their operations, last year they welcomed a new General Manager, Rebecca Shepherd. Operating from their flagship café on the stunning Waterfront Marina, she has made a significant impact both within the Paddy & Scott's team and the local community.
The hospitality industry has had to adapt and adjust from the conventional 9-5 grind post-COVID, with many companies introducing flexible working hours and increasing their time spent working from home to boost productivity. Paddy & Scott's have embraced this change. With the capacity to host up to 200 people, or to provide a setting for an intimate gathering, the variety of events Paddy & Scott's can host at their Ipswich Café is limitless. Recent events include a Latte Art Throwdown competition in partnership with Moma The Craft Oat Co, offering local barista aficionados a chance to showcase their artistic skills and the opportunity to win a Sage Bambino coffee machine, and the Marketing Meet-Ups held several times a year. At these events, Paddy & Scott's provides a relaxed environment accompanied by delicious food from exquisite venues like The Salthouse and in-house refreshments. Guest speakers from companies like Bumble and Innocent, who are industry experts, come and share their social media experiences in a relaxed, open forum, fostering the benefits of marketing communities.
The events calendar at Paddy & Scott's Marina Café caters to everyone, with the holidays seeing families enjoy pottery classes and glass painting while sipping their delicious coffee or enjoying an ice-cold smoothie. Another highlight was the annual Nourish Food and Drink Innovation Conference, which saw 200 attendees sampling locally-produced canapés and fuelling up on beverages while listening to keynote speakers and attending breakout workshops.
Charlotte-Louise Beach from Tastebuds says, “I had the most magical time at the conference, and I’d say 85% of it was down to all of you. We felt so well looked after, Rebecca and her team were INCREDIBLE! Here’s to hopefully more events together in the future.”
Paddy & Scott’s General Cafés Manager, Rebecca Shepherd, says, “We are so fortunate to open our doors out to the beautiful Marina; why not share that in a positive way with the wider community for everyone to enjoy. Bringing communities together where we can work together, educate one another, and form friendships is worth doing.”
It's inspiring to see an increasing number of companies focusing on the importance of local communities and bringing them together. It's a great boost for Ipswich and all the local companies.
