From Barista to Business Owner: Young Entrepreneur Proves Dreams Can Come True

Introducing Rosie Culley, a former employee of Paddy & Scott’s with a big dream of owning her own café. Well, on Tuesday 30th May, we will see this entrepreneur's dream come true when she opens the doors to ‘Rose + Thorn’, an awesome little café on Main Street, Harwich. Paddy & Scott’s could have been disgruntled to lose such a bright and ambitious employee, however, that is not their style. Instead, they worked closely with Rosie to ensure that her new venture is set up for success. From navigating the tricky waters of business plans and profit & loss, to branding, negotiations, suppliers, loans, contracts, coffee, and equipment - they covered it all together!

Jon Reed, CEO of Paddy & Scott’s said: “In fact, Rosie is now the 8th employee that we've helped set up their own business in recent times - we're not just about selling coffee, we're committed to fuelling ambition.”

Rosie Culley, from Rose + Thorn, stated: "I used to drop by this café before heading to the train station for work. When it closed down, I knew I had to make it happen. Harwich may be a small town, but it has a large community at its core. I have gained a lot of knowledge, and to come back to my roots and provide a new perspective and offering to this incredible community means a great deal to me."

So, if you're in the Harwich area, be sure to pop into Rosie's new café, ‘Rose + Thorn’ at 469 Main Road, CO12 4HT for some delicious cake and coffee. She will love to see you there.
