Coffee company Paddy & Scott’s ramp up their volunteering efforts by partnering with Suffolk-based Charity Tools with a Mission

Dynamic coffee company, Paddy & Scott’s, are brewing up more than just your morning cuppa; they've partnered with the heartfelt charity Tools with a Mission (TWAM) to pump up their volunteering efforts across Suffolk. TWAM, a fab charity with refurbishment centres in Ipswich, Rugby, and Halstead, rallies over 500 volunteers. Their mission is simple but powerful: collect tools that have seen better days, give them a new lease on life, and send them off as shiny tool kits to six African locations. By arming folks with the right kits, they're not just teaching a person to fish; they're helping an entire community to fish, build, and grow.
But here’s where it gets even cooler – with so many hands on deck, from tinkerers to tailors, they've knitted together a community that's all about looking out for each other. It’s about giving a sense of purpose to those who might have felt they were lacking.
Head of Refurbishment at TWAM, brainstormed with Paddy & Scott’s Chief Wordsmith to whip up a plan that shines a spotlight on various departments. Chrissie, the finance wizard, got creative with the superstar ladies from Haberdashery. Meanwhile, Fuel-Fulfilment guru Neil Wilson and Sheldon Gower tackled the challenge of adding racking to an overflow container, while the wider team dove into sorting out tools and chisels, unloading donations, and decluttering space over the two days. True to Paddy & Scott’s style, they rocked up with a top-notch Acer Coffee Machine and two scrumptious cakes whipped up by their very own Ambition House Baker, Gayle. Needless to say, coffee breaks were an absolute hit.
Trevor Maynard from TWAM shares, “We just want to say a huge thankyou to the great team from Paddy & Scotts for all their hard work, effort and support here last week. Over two days we had a multi disciplined team supporting us both with our general volunteer refurbishment and also carrying out some much needed maintenance. Our staff and volunteers really appreciated meeting the team and sharing their stories of the great work being carried out in Kenya and how P&S make sure the farmer and the community truly benefit from the relationship, in a similar way to how TWAM supports communities in numerous countries in Africa."
"Of course, I must mention the superb loan of a coffee machine with our very own personal team of baristas. Our standard coffee will never taste the same again!”
Jon Reed, CEO at Paddy & Scott’s, adds, “It’s a thing of beauty when two companies, both pumped about making our planet a more sustainable and community-oriented place, join forces. Truly beautiful things happen!"
Paddy & Scott's is not your average coffee company. They believe that a simple cup of coffee can make a tangible difference by empowering coffee farmers and their communities right from the start.
