Coffee company Paddy & Scott's is taking new steps towards a more sustainable future by partnering with Brazilian-based Derio Brioschi.

Paddy & Scott's is not your average coffee company. They believe that a simple cup of coffee can make a tangible difference by empowering coffee farmers and their communities right from the start.

In order to tackle climate change and reduce their carbon footprint, Paddy & Scott's understands that flexibility and transparency are crucial for a growing business. They actively seek out partners who share their passion for delivering exceptional crop-to-cup coffee. Given that Brazil is the world's largest producer of coffee, the opportunity to work with Derio, a fifth-generation coffee farmer from Espirito Santo, felt like a natural fit. Derio's vision to empower local coffee farmers through support and education aligns perfectly with the Paddy & Scott's brand.

Founders Derio, Joao, Luiz, and Phelipe come from coffee-producing families with generations of experience. Their desire to combine family tradition, a university education, and research led them to meet at university. Their professor at the time, Prof Lucas Louzada, played a vital role in encouraging them to develop post-harvest coffee processes, which has been a game-changer for Derio and his team.

Derio has partnered with over 300 farmers, providing guidance and support to help them produce the highest quality coffee. The relationship between Derio and the farmers is built on trust, with a shared goal of continuously improving their methods for the benefit of future generations.

The coffee industry, including farmers, roasters, and coffee companies, must be responsive and adaptable to the effects of climate change. Conilon coffee, known for its great flavor and robustness, has the ability to thrive in ever-changing environments due to its natural characteristics.

Derio Biroschi from Brazil stated, "We are thrilled to partner with Paddy & Scott's to bring our fantastic coffee to a wider audience. Together, we can make a positive impact on coffee farming communities and the environment."

Operations Director Zoe Hill from Paddy & Scott's added, "We are proud to partner with Derio and his team, who share our commitment to sustainability and empowering coffee farmers. By working together, we can create a more ethical and delicious cup of coffee for our customers."

At Paddy & Scott's, they believe that an effective supply chain should connect the farmer to the end drinker, whether through a compelling story or a meaningful message.
